Forget Thyself to Marble

I can't think of a better set of poems that describe, spiritually, Sailor Moon. On one hand, Usagi is love and joy and bright enthusiasm. But Sailor Moon and the Serenities are this wonderful contradiction. The set of poems I refer to are "Il Penseroso" (quoted above) and "L'Allegro". One is about night and thought and solitude while the other is about day and life and company. If separated, I would say that it would be Mercury and Venus... but Moon is both.

Anyway, I'm not writing a paper and have been out of practice for quite some time, so ignore all that. While the title was my inspiration for this pic, I'm not convinced it's really the best title. But we'll roll with it. Yet again, I fall back on Season One as my subject... But I totally blame watching PGSM for that. If you haven't, go watch it. I was shocked at how close it was to the manga without being the same... and so much different that I wasn't sure what would actually end up happening. 10/10 would watch again.

There's something completely natural about combining Sailor Moon and art nouveau. I know a lot of people have done this before, but I wanted to do it, too. So I did. I regret nothing.

Reference used for roses and to make sure that the swords were right. Mostly manga, but with a healthy scoop of the anime.
