Masquerade dress by AerithReborn Masquerade dress by AerithReborn
I want to make this dress. I've seen the fabric before, the one that shimmers a different color. I know the one, but I don't know what it's called. It's based off of two simplicity patterns, one for the top part of the bodice (sans that arm thing) and another for the dress and train. The shoulder piece is inspired by Satine's dress when she goes to the Gothic Tower (Roxanne dance) from Moulin Rouge. I'm hoping to maybe add some black lace as a faux petticoat under the bottom hem, but I'm not sure exactly how that would look. The choker was inspired by one I saw at work yesterday and can probably be purchased at HotTopic lol.

Will hopefully be used at Onicon for Masquerade Integra for Friday night's dance.

not really... This was really a combination of dresses that I threw together in one idea, but nothing original enough to merit the title of "designer".  Thank you, though!

sure! It's not really original... it's kind of a combination of a few different dresses that I blended together.

I must ask... why a waist seam?

I don't want it, but that's what was common in both patterns... I'm probably gonna find some way of getting rid of it once I have pattern pieces in hand. This concept will probably change some before the dress is finished. Just wanted to get the thing out of my head and into something more concrete, you know?

just subtract the seam allowances on the bodice and skirt pieces and then tape together. whammo! no waist seam! :D
