I had just finished my keyblades that morning (Oblivion's paint was almost damp).
Everything here is handmade by me except for the black sweater (I altered) and the shuriken zipper pull (thanks ).
Oathkeeper: pink insulation foam, paper mache (white and wood glue, watered down and over tissue paper), fiberglass resin, several hours of sanding, white spray paint, acrylics, pearlescent paint, laquer.
Oblivion: pink insluation foam, paper mache, fiberglass resin, fiberglass cloth, more resin, LOTS of sanding, black and silver spray paint, acrylic touch ups, plastic chain. It actually broke about 24 hours after this point. Thanks to and DCC cosplay for their help with repairs.
and I competed this the next night at the AnimeFEST cosplay with our show "Walking and Thinking". We got the idea from a combination of our fanfiction backgrounds, Limit Break's Kingdom Hearts skit from A-Kon 15, and the fact that AFest doesn't really support drama skits. Well... they created the Drama category after our show and we won the Best Drama award! FIRST AWARD EVAR! I'll post a link to the show when it's on youtube.
Photography by SkyPirate, may his flash never burn out.
Pure Awsomeness. Congratulations on the award. You know, a wood core probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to support the foam. Just a thought.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
